Could be fuel starvation caused by dirt in the filter/carburettor etc.

Get a battery tender to put on the battery when you aren't using it to keep it fully charged. Check battery connections and grounds. Check the starter relay plus the starter and solenoid. Call an auto electrician. The videos may help diagnosis.

If the carb is leaking, it is because the float is set wrong or the float valve needle isn't seating properly. Engines only need three things to run. A supply of clean fresh fuel (not sitting a year) A Spark at the right time. Compression. You say you cleaned the carb **in** carb cleaner, as opposed to *with* carb cleaner. Did you strip it down, check the float for holes, clean the jets and needles?

If the CV Joints are new and correctly inserted, the most likely culprit for the noise would be the brakes. Remove the front wheels and turn the hub. 'clips' and 'turns' it took me a while to realise you were talking about the carburetor and you were playing with the mixture screw and needle position! 4 turns out is a lot different to the factory setting which is 1 1/2 turns out. If it is overheating it is running too lean. As you changed the stator, also consider the ignition timing. Popping can also be caused by the ignition failing under load, coil, lead and spark plug. get a colortune tool.it shows how your firing.read instructions that come with,so simple to tune carb in with.sounds like pilot out of adjustment.could also have a leak in ur carb boot or head.take a torch without lighting open valve with motor running run torch around gaskets and front of carb boot listen for change in motor.if it gets higher rev uve found a leak.
