Have a 350l trail boss that won't start. No spark. Suspect the CDI as coil is good but wuold like to knwow how to test or to determine if the CDI is getting a signal. Any suggestions? I have a red/yellow and yellow coming from the stator. Other info says check resistance (522 ohms) between the white/red and white wires coming from the pulse coil. White red and ground at infinate resistance. Are these the same and are the readings the same

According to my polaris manual, is says'' The regulator / rectifier is tested by process of elimination ( when all other possable causesof chargingsystem failurehave been checkedand eliminated, the rectifier is defective). I had to replace my stator and then had a simular problem as you have and it was that the ignition pulse coil wasn't properly guaged ( sometimes the metal retainer will allow slight movement) You might want to also check the coil resistance 0.3 to 0.5 ohms the coil secondary resistance spark plug cap installed 11,300 ohms spark plug cap removed6300 ohms. this sounds crazy but is your speedometer in working order. i have a 99 also and i didnt get any spark one day just quit. after a couple days of trying things i read on the internet about if your speedometer is not working and cutting on or off it will short out the spark and also make the 4 wheel drive not work. i unhooked the speedo and no problems since.
