Having problems finding a charger for a 6v battery . Bought a new battery ordered a charger that won't fit.

Motortrenz 3 wheel motorcycle. The charger that I ordered both have make ends.

SOURCE: Need new replacement battery SEL DMU6-3 6V3AH

I found a replacement battery at interstatebatteries.com. Search for DMU6-3, you'll find 6v 3ah SLA 187/250 Faston for $10.00

First check the charger by using it to charge a different phone to determine if the charger is functioning fine. After doing this check the battery is properly installed if both options above are in good condition then sorry to say but the central board on your unit is probably bad and will need replacement.
the central board is the main component of the phone and acts as thee brain of the device, all functions go through it. When you purchase a new battery the unit should at least come on even if the charging function does not work.
best refer it to an expert to determine if the entire board is spoilt or just the power segment of the board.

Hi,

It looks like the charger has a specific plug terminated on the end so I would suggest buying the manufacturers replacement part. It can be purchased in the UK from the below links for around £35 or slightly cheaper form ebay but from a seller in the USA (third link below).

The charger model number is MECB0037.

This is a common issue with battery powered items... the charger shows charged and there is no power. Have you checked the battery with a multimeter (volt meter)? It will probably show the rated voltage ,, but you have NO AMPERAGE to push the voltage. These batteries only have so many discharges and charges in their life span.. If this sounds like what you are experiencing.. just get a new battery...(my kids power wheels went through this too!)

You might check the battery charger.... Some of these smaller foreign built ATV's have a battery charger that comes with them. I am not sure what the real problem is tho... Does it crank at all? Does it produce a clicking sound instead of turning the engine over?

start looking for a full harness fo replace it with thats just a mess and will only lead to problems down the road

Hey Ccp.. A new battery and it did not help the cranking issue?? hhmm... PLEASE take the battery and have the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) checked... just because its new and has voltage does not mean its a "good battery"... It takes AMPERAGE to crank and run your machine.. (*see 35 amp fast charge!!)..Autozone, O'reilly's, a battery shop can check the CCA... once you have MADE SURE the battery is good, then you can proceed to diagnosing the real issue...This is the procedure a professional mechanic takes..so do this first... once you have determined the battery is (good or you got a new one)..and ... once you have the machine running,,WITHOUT a charger hooked up.. time to check the output.. you should get 13.5+ volts at 3000+rpm.. if you are not getting 13.5+ volts, its time for electrical diagnosis...This manual should have all the electrical specifications needed to diagnose your issues...
