Disconnect the connector for the fue injector on the left side front of the intake plenemn there are two wires on red one blue these are your fue injector wires, check for power on one wire with the key ON One has power with the key ON, and then take the test light connect one end on one of the wires coming out of the harness NOT the plenem and the other end of the testlight to the other wire in the same connector don't let them touch togother! sue a paperclip or cotterpin to let you connect the clip of the testlight to the connector.crank and you should see the light blink( I just want to narrow down the possibilities) If you see the light blink Good. Then make sure the PINK wire wire going going in the module has 12V KEY ON and also check the two wires inside the distributor that come from the pick-up unit make sure they are not broke the distributor pick-up unit failes commonly, its easier and less expensive to just get a used distributor that works and be done with it.

Hi, sounds like you did all the pre-start things right. All of your bearings should be nice and lubed so you won't spin one. I don't know how much oil pressure you have built up on the gauge, but I have heard of to much causing the motor not to turn like it should. Yes, you can leave all of the plugs in when you bring # 1 up to top dead center, and point you rotor to #1 on the cap. Make sure its on the compression stroke and not the discharge stroke. Here is what happened to me when I built up my 69 Z-28, It turned over great just like yours. After priming all of the bearings, crank and so on through the distributor, mine started for about 3 seconds and stopped, wouldn't turn over anymore. Found that it spun a rod bearing on # 8 journal and had to pull the motor, pan and find it. Hung a new piston, rod, and bearings and it ran fine for many years.Crank had been turned, but no damage. Try pulling all of your plugs to see if it turns over then. I don't believe you have spun a bearing on this new motor. Did you buy this motor complete from a shop?? I would pull the plugs, the distributor, to see if you can relieve some of the oil pressure. This may be your only problem. If it spun a rod or main bearing when you first tried to turn it over, it wasn't put together properly from the start! Just because its new, does not mean its correct, keep this in mind. From what you are saying, it sounds like a mechanical and not electrical problem. Keep me posted by my user name below, so we can get it running for you. Hang in there and don't get frustrated, we can get to the bottom of this. I will wait to hear back from you.
Sincerely,

Sounds like it may be the spark plugs. If you have a spark maybe a fuel filter is clogged? Hope all goes well!
