It's likely to be either spark or fuel.
Remove the spark plug and inspect it. There are pictures of good and bad plugs on line, the plug can tell you a lot about the fuel mixture and how well the motor is running.
Check that there is a spark jumping the plug gap when you turn the engine over (the plug body metal must be touching the engine metal to complete the spark circuit).
It's worth trying a new plug in case the old one has failed, even if the spark looks ok, sometimes a plug only fails when under pressure.
If there is no spark, check the ignition wiring (particularly connectors), kill switch, key switch, coil etc. You might have to get an expert to test these things for you.
If there is a good spark and a new plug makes no difference then it could be fuel. Easiest way to check is to get a can of Easy Start or similar and spray it into the air intake as you try to start, if it starts then look for a fuel problem.
Make sure there's enough fuel in the tank, the tap is on (try on reserve too), the hoses are not kinked or blocked.
If it's a blockage in the carburetor it's probably best get a mechanic to check/clean it.
Good luck.

is it getting fuel? try tipping a very small amount of fuel down rhe plug hole, replace the plug if it fires you have a carb problem.
SOURCE: engine cut out now it wont start.
you need to take the head off this bike and check for piston damage i suspect that you may have a partialy sezied engine .

Could be a few things, First, you say it's getting fuel, but is the fuel fresh? It may have water in it and act like your engine. Did this problem just start happening? Did you happen to ride over something that may have sheared the key on the flywheel? This would throw the timing off on the engine. If you can try to start it while spraying gas into the carb throat and it keeps running, then it could just be a dirty caburetor or a misadjusted carb float. Good luck, Bill

Sounds to me like you have a stuck float in the carburetor. It's only allowing a trickle of gas from the tank into the bowl. When the gas is used up, it dies. It won't start right away because it's out of gas. It takes some time before there is enough gas in the bowl for it to start. I'm guessing that if you let it sit for longer, it takes a little longer to die? If you can remove the carb, do so. Flip it over and let the gas drain into something. See those four screws? Take them out. Now it's time you understand the carb and how it works. You will see the float, it's the biggest moving part in the carb. It should be hinged to the body by a little pin.if you move it up and down, you will see that it moves a little piston that goes into the fuel port. Try not to bend the place where it attaches as this is how you adjust the fuel level in the bowl, and may end up having gas pour out till your tank is empty! If you push the pin out the float will come off. Now the piston is sharp on one end. That end goes up into the carb, and when the float pushes hard enough on it, stops fuel from entering the bowl. If all the parts are moving freely, spray with some carb cleaner and re assemble. You can check the flow by putting a hose on the fuel inlet ( the spot where the tank hooks to the carb) and blowing through it while moving the float up and down. You should be able to pass air until the float reaches the top of its travel. If not, it will need to be adjusted by slightly bending those little tabs where the piston attaches to the float. A little trial and error, and you should have your bike up and running again. Hope this helps!
