How do i remove the rear sprocket from a xtm 250 atv quad

I used to have one of the Suzuki quads if I remember right you have to rotate the rear axle forward to loosen and backward to tighten

Why are you needing to remove the carb??
........... IF you cannot figure out how to remove the carburetor, you DO NOT need to be working on, tinkering with, adjusting, or anything else with the carburetor!! Take it to a qualified professional!!

if bolts off, and tapping with a rubber mallet dont get it loose
then a puller. (generic useless answer)
but why not get the service manual and stop guessing,
some vehicles need axles unlocked.

It has an electric motor I would check the sprocket on the motor see if it has a key way it could of broke or fell out

sounds like somethingin rear assbly wore letting axel angle a liile misaligning sprockets

My first check would be the condition of the chain and sprockets. Check to make sure all of the teeth are still ok and if the tension of the chain is correct and that it is well lubed.

If the noise is more pronounced from the rear and chain and sprockets are ok, it could be the differential that has either failed bearings or damaged gears.

Pull cover & remove nut after bending down locktab.Replace sprocket with new. Retighten with blue loctite on nut & refold locktab so it can't come loose.Readjust chain slack to 3/4 " in the middle of chain. Retighten rear housing bolts.
