Kawasaki Bayou 250 valve clearance

what year ? 1999 should be 15 to 20 mm intake on exh 18 to 23 mm i think depending on year. they run tight. adj at tdc on comp stroke with valves open far as they can. have to rotate eng for each valve to open fully and independently one opens and other closes at same time. should be very quiet if adj correctly.adj the closed valve only when fully closed

I suggest you check the exhaust isn't partially blocked and then if OK ensure the cam timing, valve clearances, etc. is correct.

timing may have jumped and bent the intake valve causing it to blow back into the carb on the compression stroke.

no. idle is a thumb screw on the side of the carb. (I think, mine was an older model)

clean carburettor there is a clot in it or on fuel line and petrol reserve on off valve.change fuel filter and try it.

clean carburettor.check fuel line for clots and replace filter.

do you mean the idle air fuel mix screw adjustment? its 1.5 turns out.
