The cdi is where i would go next.if you get ahold of a good second hand one,all the better, otherwise its going to be a new one.
What about power from the stator? Is there any? if so,then the cdi is the problem

Grandson has quad 2006 Artic Cat DUX 90 that has no spark is there a way to check the coil or CDI BOX

coil you can test if you have a coil tester but doubt you do. CDI cant be tested. could also be a pick up coil on the stator, ignition switch, kill switch, tether if it has one.

I keep losing spark and my 400 artic cat will not start. I have checked the ignition coil, magnets, and the cdi. What should I check next?

Sometimes when bad parts heat up they fail. I have seen this with the cdi. Be very aggressive when checking your connections. Do you lose spark after it has been run for a while or at certain temps?

99 model arctic cat 400 backfires and smokes when u alcterate

The mixture is too rich; too much unburned fuel vapor. This is what causes backfiring. Try using a slightly hotter spark plug first! If that doesn;t work, then Make sure the engine is fully warmed up and then lean the mixture an 1/8" of turn on the mixture screw... not more, and it should stop. If it still occurs, you will need to rebuild the carburetor. Get a welding tip cleaning wire tool from NAPA to help clean out the passages and ensure you check the float distance to assure it's within tolerance.

Over heated from blown fan fuse, checked compression, now no spark.

well as you probably know there is NO "test" to check the CDI=buying one and swapping it! I'm thinking it's your flywheel due to the weight(s) falling off and depending how much damage has been done inside this side cover u may need a stator and new gasket for the cover. Good luck Tom

2004 arctic cat 500 4x4 starter turns doesnt engage starts with pull cord

The starter has to throw it's gear out using centrifugal force. The speed of the starter has to be enough to overcome the spring inside. It is either a little seized and needs to be rebuilt and greased up, or the battery isn't powered up enough to get the right speed to engage properly. In that case clean the battery posts and clamps well, then charge or replace the battery. To know if the battery is bad wait till it is charged... if it still doesn't engage try again with booster cables from your car etc. and see if it suddenly works fine.
