Normally, you would just drain the tank, remove the fitting and replace the gasket. I don't see a gasket though, unless it is just a standard O-ring. That is the way to do it though.
Normally cooling fan starts after temperature rises above set limit by vehicle manufacturer, till engine coolents cools down. As you say thermostat & relay(coil) is ok. Now you have to check thermostat contact point To relay point connectivity. When temparature rises relay switches to start cooling fan, either a contact failure or wire rusted at one of parts.
replace the battery as there is not enough charge to start and provide power for the ignition
when you pull start the max power is provided to the ignition system

This sounds very serious..Unless you are a VERY GOOD mechanic, you need to take this machine to a qualified professional..it will be best in the long run...
sounds like the connecting rod on the crankshaft.
i would inspect the primary clutch first before an engine teardown. Sometimes the engine shifts on the engine mounts and the clutch hits the cover, also check to make sure belt is not slapping around in cover.
