Why does the engine load up at higher rpms?

The four wheeler starts up good and idles fine but when you start giving it gas it starts to load up and it smokes how do I fix this

You might have a dirty carb.check the big jet in there as it might have a blockage.sounds like you have enough gas going through the small jet to start the quad and for slow speed but when you want to give it good power, it starts to bog down.do the carb thing first

It appears that the problem is in the brushes in the alternator and the slip rings. At high revs and 4000 will be around 6000 in the alternator the brushes are floating off the rings. I would have the alternator check out

It could be a clog fuel filter. you can start in changing the filter and clean the fuel system.
