Water on the belt shouldnt destroy the belt. It just makes it slip so you wont get full power out of it. If its wet & you are running it hard it could fry the belt.

Why doesn't it move when gas pedal is pushed?

If your vehicle's gas pedal is pushed, but the vehicle is not moving, there could be a few potential causes, depending on the type of vehicle and transmission.
  1. Transmission issues: One possible cause could be a problem with the transmission. If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, it could be that the transmission is not engaging properly or is slipping, preventing the vehicle from moving. In a manual transmission vehicle, the clutch may be slipping or not engaging properly.
  2. Drive train problems: Another potential cause could be a problem with the drive train, such as a broken or disconnected axle, driveshaft, or differential.
  3. Brake issues: If the brakes are engaged or stuck, the vehicle may not move even if the gas pedal is pressed. Make sure the emergency brake is released, and that the brake pedal is not stuck.
  4. Engine issues: If the engine is not running properly or has a mechanical problem, it may not have enough power to move the vehicle. Check the engine for any warning lights or unusual sounds.
It's important to address any issues with your vehicle promptly and to seek the help of a qualified mechanic to diagnose and repair the problem. A mechanic will be able to perform a thorough inspection and identify the root cause of the issue.

Why is getting hot after changing water pump

Sir,
If you did a clean perfectly clean installation when installing the water pump, there should be no issues with air infiltration. If you are good , OK.

The most common problem over the years that can become an oversight for those around me is how clean the radiators core on the outside are..

Withstanding a change of the fluids and the filters when the pump went together.

Since this is a hydrostatic transmission. The other place that comes to mind is the transmission cooler that is in the loop area. What do say?

Well, a generous soaking of GUNK and or equivalent followed by a extensive pressure wash could make you very happy. Any way you will probably want it running when doing the total wash. We do.

It always made us smile. Here is to a happy chin, soon, too. Take a look. Fare well.

2005 sportsman noise in the rear area of the machine

The belt and pulleys are probably not the cause with the sound you are describing. To me it sounds more mechanical when you say grinding. Have you checked the rear dif?
