2008 honda rancher will not shift dash shows a blinking line or dash

Could be shift sensor or need to pull shift motor and gears clean and re-grease , some of the honda grease was too stiff.

All new displays start over just like it was purchased new. You will lose all the mileage readings.

It maybe the gear position switch causing the problem, this switch controls the ground lines to the display as you shift the gears. Use the shift tool when testing the switch.

there are three sensors on the left side just in front of the rear tire probably a bad connection

Check that you have a spark .
The gap may be lost on the flywheel

Flour is sifted, not gears. Get outta the kitchen if ya can't spell!

did you get water in it ? My sons did the same thing and come to find out there was inside the control box. we replaced the whole head and harness and it took care of the problem

Overheating maybe, engine timing

sounds like one of your solenoid in the valve body is bad, if you.are able to shift it.by yourself, then it could be a.solenoid, but also.check your transmission fluid to make sure its full, check when transmission fluid is hot, either in park or neutral, your owners manual will tell you which.way to check it, sometimes on the.dipstick it will say how to.check it to.
