There is a fuse link at the Positive battery terminal wire. It will blow to protect the circuits if the battery is hooked up backwards.
It is a smaller gauge section in the wire that melts to save systems. any auto parts store has one

How hard did you try to find your wiring diagram? I found several by searching "wiring diagram for the q4 sport atv" in about 30 seconds.

google for a gy6 service manual. might find what you need.

check for a micro switch under the seat, on the foot brake system
indicates that by starting when pulling the wire you are breaking a ground circuit that stops it from working

There are several places you can go on the web that have free atv repair/owners manuals. The owners manuals usually have a wiring schematic on or towards the last page also trouble shooting diagrams with instruction in them.
