I assume you rocked it back and forth to try to get it out of gear. Usually there is a lock-out that prevents the starter from operation when it is in gear. I don't know your specific model but you would have to defeat that feature to crank the engine. Not a good idea. You really have to get it in neutral because even if you got it started you are looking at some other problem with the transmission.

YOu have a short somewhere. You are going to have to trace every high tension circuit wire and check them with a simple multimeter... very cheap to buy. Put it on resistance and check the values. It the values are close, no problem there. It's your electronic ignition system then. Don't bother replacing the coil again as it will burn it up. You will need specialized assistance to determine exactly which part is faulty. Check all your grounds too!

Bad plug, or bad Coil. Could be a pickup as well

The CDI box could be bad or the coil could be breaking down so maybe a new coil would fix you up they only run around 20$ cdi box on the other hand can cost an easy 100$ or better you might also try changing the oil but make sure to buy kinda thick oil cause it's cold out

Hello Anom, I do need more information to truly help you. Has the ATV (??..engine size, carb, fuel inj., year,??..etc.).. been sitting for a while...the carb is probably in need of a simple cleaning (all internal passages), a new spark plug, clean/treat or replace the air filter will probably get it running! take off the horn unit power it direct if it works its ok, if not replace, next step wire a small bulb into the horn wires and press the button if it lights the switch is ok, if you have a circuit tester put one end on the battery ground and check for power in the horn wires if their is power there put the lead on battery positive and press the horn button if there is no power their the switch or wiring is faulty

It seems that the clutch is not disengaging may need a adjustment unless it is hydro drive then I am stumped.
