Kymco 2010 MXU 375 IRS 4x4 - Page 9 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
What year is the artic cat bear cat 400 4x4 with a right side hand rev. shifter on it
You will need to find the VIN number stamped on the bear cat's frame. You should be able to use this to source the vehicles original details when it was first registered.
The VIN number is a set of 17 letters and numbers. The 10th digit is a code letter/number for a particular year after 1981.
**NOTE** From 2010 the letters are re-used so registration documents would be needed if the vehicle appears older than these dates.

1989 Yamaha blaster 200 no spark
Silly questions! Is this a kick or button start? Is there a security 'Dead' switch fitted to the ATV that you have left on? Have you changed the actual spark plug? Is the Battery fully charged? Turn all the other features off that you can on the ATV before you start it. This stops any other drains on the voltage at starting.

Can faded plastic get its shine back on a fourwheeler
It is possible if it is not too far gone. If the plastic is severely faded, the chances lessen. There are several different types of restorative products that you could use, and they can be found at almost any auto parts store.I hope that you have found this information to be useful, and if I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. Thank you for using fixya!

My 2007 Suzuki Eiger won't start. it has been
Air, Spark, Gas, Compression. If any one or more of these is missing.....no start for you.
Easiest thing to check is spark. Remove the plug from the head and attach plug wire to plug. Holding the threaded portion of the plug against the head somewhere turn the engine over while looking for spark. The spark should be bluey white and should be rythmic in it's sparking. If it he spark looks yellowy or weak...try a new plug and see if it changes. Also before you put the plug back in you can put a thumb or finger over the hole and spin the engine...you are looking for your thumb or finger to get blown off the hole....this verifies that you at least have some sort of compression.
Make sure no critters have gotten into you airbox and make sure the filter looks clean. For testing you could fire the engine with no air cleaner at all but don't run it that way.
Verify the gas flows freely to the carb. Also make sure the gas is fresh....old or stale gas will have a lower octane than fresh gas. If the gas sits too long it can transform into a varnishy gunk in the carb itself. This will plug jets and orifices and even if you get it to start it will likely run like a dog.
Loosen the bowl drain on the carb and try to catch what comes out in a clear glass container....look for debris in the gas. If you see any debris it's time to pull the carb and clean it out.
If all looks ok but it will not fire...remove the plug and dribble a small amount of gas directly into the cylinder....not too much...like a couple tablespoons. Reinstall plug and try to start. If it starts and then dies and will not restart your carb is munged up and will need to be taken apart and cleaned.
If the engine backfires and and such you may have timing issues but if it was running well and was finicky after sitting awhile I would bet on a fuel problem.
Good luck.
Take care.

2007 Yamaha 350 4x4. Tried to use winch. Now, why doesn't it start?
Hello. It seems the winch on your Yamaha 'strained' its electrical system; 'fried' wires including the 'starter circuit' wiring. It's possible there is a 'blown' relay and/or fuse somewhere. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

Added an LED light bar. Kills the battery. What can I do?
There is an alternator, rectifier, and possibly a regulator but it is likely only enough amps to charge the battery and operate a single headlight. Check specs in owners manual.
Year, make, and model for further assistance.
