If its a 2 stoke,"takes gas oil mix", piston in backwards,, ,,,,if its a 4 stroke "takes gas only"...rocker arms need adjusted, or cam not set in proper place during resembly "out of time". Or a. Bent valve/valves,,,in the head, valve will have to be replaced

Make sure you have compression and fuel too.

sounds like somethingin rear assbly wore letting axel angle a liile misaligning sprockets

clean idle jet. If that does not do it. back out fuel mixture screw 1/4 turn

i would adj valves 1st and go from there. rings maybe stuck if it has sat a while w/o being started. run a compression test on it should have something at least. no compression doesnt sound right to me. if so rings stuck can be freed if so ,sometimes fixes it ,sometimes breaks it

Have you checked for spark? That's where you need to go to first. Take out the plug, put it back on the plug wire and hold it against the cylinder head. Kick over the motor and watch for spark.

sounds like you didn't get the pilot jet /air screw / idle circuit clean. the symptoms sound like the pilot jet needs cleaning.. the jet has a VERY tiny hole that's easily blocked or dirty

Pilot jet may be t o small or your air screw isn't adjusted right try turning the air screw in all the way then turn out 1full turn test and adjust until it runs good if that doesn't fix it the pilot jet will need to be cleaned or brought up one size hope this will help you good luck If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/brandon_79b580f5a99c4386
