Polaris ATV Questions & Answers
2008 Sportsman. Why is it running rough?
The 20 Amp fuse (diagram shows only one 20A) feeds ignition coil and fuel pump circuits. With a current probe measure the two circuits separately to identify which is most probable cause.
Check battery voltage with engine running. It should be well over 13 VDC.
If it will run for a few minutes, you might get by with a touch test of the ignition coil and fuel pump. If one is markedly hot, the heat likely identifies the culprit. But a current probe is the tool necessary if you want to avoid part$ swapping.
Recommend fuel pressure check also. Eccessively high pressure could be problematic and low pressure would further implicate fuel pump.

2011 550efi quad. How can I adjust throttle cable?
This will depend on how much you need to adjust it. Small amounts can be made using the cable sleeve adjusters. At each end of the cable sleeve is a nut shaped connector. If there is a small thin nut slacken it a couple of turns. Wind the larger nut out to tighten it and In to slacken. Use a wrench, (spanner), to hold the large nut still and re-tighten the small nut to lock it. Some versions don't have the smaller lock nut so you just wind them in or out. If you need to move it a large amount it might be easier to just replace the whole cable.

I have a 2005 800 Polaris sportsman.there are four circuit breakers 6 amp,15 amp and two 20 amps.
What circuits are they for?
Ok the 6 amp fuse is for the ecm the 15 amp fuse is for the cluster one of the 20 amp is main power the outher 20 amp should be for the starter and charging circuit .your over heating problem could be in the fan temp sensor you will find it on the left side of the machine on top of the thermostat housing , take and disconnect the plug on it and jumper the two wires togather with key on fan should come on if it does replace fan temp sensor .if not visibly pull each fuse out and look to see if is burnt odds of the fan being bad is very uncommon. This will be all good if is an EFI 800 hope that is helpfull
